Orthopedics or arthropodology is a medical specialty that examines the musculoskeletal system and its problems, and examines, prevents and treats congenital, acquired or traumatized sensations that change the morphology and function of the body’s motion system. The word is formed by combining the words orthos (smooth) and paedia (child).

Pediatric Orthopedics;

Pediatric orthopedics mostly deals with surgical procedures such as congenital deformities of children, developmental hip dysplasia (congenital hip dislocation), dwarfism, clubfoot (pes equinovarus) and height extension.

Arthroplasty deals with joint diseases. It provides a painless range of motion to the joint by replacing the joints that have undergone arthritic changes, usually as a result of age or a trauma, with prostatic parts (artificial, made of steel-titanium alloys).

If drug treatments, physical therapy and walkers do not relieve the patient’s pain, do not increase the quality of life and do not provide a comfortable sleep at night, joint replacement surgery can be planned. The most common joint replacement surgery is knee replacement. If the patient’s joints are severely damaged due to trauma or calcification, simple daily activities such as walking and climbing stairs may become difficult.

Hand surgery;

It deals with hand, wrist, forearm and elbow traumas and their diseases.

Spine surgery;

It repairs spinal trauma, tumors, infections and structural deformities such as scoliosis and kyphosis.

Arthroscopic surgery;

It provides treatment by entering with a camera through small holes without opening the joints, removing more joint mice, anterior-posterior cruciate ligament surgery, and treats meniscus lesions.

Foot-ankle surgery;

Foot and ankle surgery, as the name suggests, deals with foot and ankle problems.

Oncological Orthopedics;

It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all benign and malignant tumors originating from the musculoskeletal system itself or spreading from other organs.

Deformity Surgery;

It deals with the correction of congenital or acquired deformities.
